| At Räthgloben 1917 Verlag, demanding and high quality globes are created lovingly by hand using a special process. The manual creation has basically followed the same procedure for centuries: 12 globe segments are cut out and glued to a globe body one after the other. The globe segments should overlap as little as possible and simply fit together. Each handmade globe is unique and, in our highly mechanized world, a one of a kind of product with a strong tradition which looks forward to ever increasing popularity. The stable metal meridians are individually primed, painted gold or silver and provided with a special protective coating. All wooden bases are made from solid wood and local beech and receive their beautiful shapes, surfaces and various wood color tones from a turnery in Southern Germany. |
